Georgia is a suitible font for a magazine becuase it's accessable for all ages whether male or female, it's also bold, authentic, and stands out.

Sketch block is a suitable font because it fits the 'college' criteria and has a young, fashionable style to it, which would appeal to majority of college students.

Hand Times is a suitable font because it has the scribbled handwritten look which would appeal to acedemic students, yet is sophisticated liek an actual magazine title.

College Magaine research -

The NewYork sunday times release of a college magazine; I like this magaine cover design as it is young, arty and is effective without even using a model for the front cover - which helps stay with the genre of college rather than anything else. The bright colours, and collage effect give off an eyecatching cool sense, however i don't think the words stand out enough and there isn't any headings or clue as to what articles are going to be featured.

The college magazine is in the style of a typical magazine. The use of a young model holding books will appeal and immediatly show the genre of the magaine also the bright colours against the dark background effectively stand out. The headers have been made to seem appealing to what students will want to do during their college experience and are completely focused on their needs. The font is very basic yet universal giving the magazine a 'cool' sense to further studying rather than boring!

Beloit college magazine is alot more acedemic rather than cool. The magazine is clearly for a certain college rather than for colleges everywhere. A medium close up of a girl doing work is used to appeal to those mainly looking for help, tips and ideas on college work. The headers are college work based instead of what you can do in college for experience, yet the fonts and colours don't stand out as much as a typical magazine.

My college magazine project

Evaluation; After finishing my magazine project and then comparing it to actual college based magazines, i think i have accessed most basic features alike with magazine covers - such as an eye catching medium close up, a college theme, a few college based headers and a young universal style. However i think my use of font, and colour of font doesn't catch enough attention and should have been written in a much more bright appealing colour than just black. I think i could have used a college logo to make the magazine seem more official/authentic and it might have been a better idea to include a few more article headings in order to include a wider range of student needs. On my contents page I could have kept it with a more similar theme (background) rather than go from a lined background on my front cover, to a doodled background for my contents. My contents page was more or less rushed, and i believe if i had left more time to work on it i could have inserted some theme based images next to the titles to give more of an eyecathing appeal.
